Apple Walnut Pastry Swirls

Ingredients

1/2 pack of puff pastry (1 sheet)

1 cup of light brown packed sugar

1/2 cup plain flour

1 tblspAspen Mulling Spices

2 medium Granny Smith apples,peeled,cored and chopped

1/2cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 Tblsp cold butter, cut into pieces

1/2 cup sultanas or raisins

Icing sugar for dusting

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Thaw pastry at room temperature for 30 minutes.

1. Mix brown sugar, flour and Aspen MullingSpices.

2. Add the apples, nuts and butter and toss to coat with dry ingredients.

3. Unfold the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 15" by 10" rectangle.

4. Spoon the apple mixture onto the pastry. Leave a 2"edge along one side. Spread the mixture to all the other edges.

5. Starting with the covered side, roll up like a swiss roll, ending with the unfilled edge.

6. Cut into 12 (1 & 1/4") slices and place 2" apart on a greasedbaking sheet.

Bake in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Removefrom baking sheet and cool on awire rack. Dust with icing sugar.
